As PostDoc at the Urology Research Laboratory at the University of Bern, the focus of my research is to investigate the molecular and functional characteristics of highly metastatic and oncogenic prostate cancer stem/progenitor-like cells. My interest is oriented to the identification of targetable molecules and metabolic pathways altered during prostate cancer progression and bone metastasis formation. The goal of my work is to identify novel biomarkers that could provide a better stratification and effective treatment for prostate cancer patients. I work in close collaboration with the Clinical Department of Urology to implement a personalized medicine approach that can translate my findings into the clinic.
