Highly metastatic and oncogenic prostate cancer stem/progenitor-like cells play a role in cancer progression and in the formation of metastasis.

In this project, we focus on the molecular and functional characterisation of these subpopulations of metastatic and oncogenic cancer stem cells, with specific interest to the identification of targetable molecules and metabolic pathways altered during prostate cancer progression and bone metastasis formation. The goal of this work is to identify novel biomarkers that could provide a better stratification and effective treatment for prostate cancer patients.
